Book Scavanger Hunt – Book Tag

Today I decided to do the Book Scavenger Hunt by Peter Likes Books, you can check out his video here. I recently wanted this video on BooksandLala! I really have been feeling slumpy, so I thought this would be a great way to help find a book to read and lessen my TBR pile!

**Rules and Directions

*You may NOT ask for help!

*You MAY have fun and take as long as you want!

*The Prize is the book you end up with!

  1. Find your favorite book.
  2. Find another author who either has the first or last name in their name of in #1. Pick any book by that author.
  3. Open that book and go to page 74. On the third line down, pick out two words and find another book with those two words in the title.
  4. Once you have found that book, find another book with similar context.
  5. Upon finding that book, find a diverse book with a similar title.
  6. Pick a name of one of the main characters from that book and find another book that has that name in the title.
  7. Open that book to any page and pick a word, without looking. That is your word.
  8. Go to your favorite section and find the first book you see that has your word in the title.
  9. You have found the book the universe is leading you to read!
  10. Buy or check out your book. Or pick it off of your own shelves!

My Turn:

This is a lot harder to do than I though! I have to admit I did cheat but only because I am using my selves. I eventually had to because of none of my lines from step three, gave me a title.

  1. A Court of Mist and Fury By Sarah J. Maas
  2. Queen of Shadows By Sarah J. Maas
  3. My words being “the” and “of” MyBook being The Five Stages of Andrew VBrawley By Shaun David Hutchinson
  4. Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda
  5. Auggie and Me??  By R.J. Palacio
  6. Wonder
  7. M word was “We”
  8. We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson
  9. I plan on starting soon!
  10. I just got it in the mail today!

I hope you enjoyed!? I know I cheated a little bit, but it is a lot harder and takes up a lot of time. I spent almost 2 hours, just trying to make it work!

I tag anyone who wants to do it!

Thank you for stopping by, Emily.

Book Recommendations – Spring!

So, it’s Spring Time here in Pennsylvania (where I live) but it’s still been a bit chilly ,for some people. I thought I would write down some of my favorite books that are great reads for Spring!

Nowhere but Here – Katie McGarry wp-1486599054130.jpg

I know I talk about this book a lot, but it is just so good! I have a review for it here. All of her books are great for this time of year, but this one is my all time favorite!

Emily is a sheltered child lives with her mom and stepdad (who’s really like her dad) he adopted her when she was little. Emily loves the four walls she lives in, in Florida. She has her life planned out for her. She wants to graduate and go to college. Then her dad gets an e-mail that Eli’s (her biological father) mom has died. So Emily goes to Kentucky to see Eli and pay her respects. While at the funeral home she meets Oz. Oz is a charming eighteen year old who wants to be apart of Eli’s motorcycle club- the Reign Of Terror- not everyone gets to be apart of this group, only the ones who become prospects or are part of the family up until they are eighteen when they choose whether they want to be apart of the club. Eli gets to spend more time with his daughter. Oz also gets to spend time with Emily also,  he’s put as her guard dog to make sure no one harms her. As they spend more time together, they shift from more than friends.

Love and Vandalism –  Laurie Boyle Crompton25652437

I recently read this is April and loved it! It was so cute but was still contained heavy subjects! You should pick it up this month for sure. I also have a review up for it here.

Rory has been keeping secrets. She is the towns graffiti artist who has been painting lions all over their little town. She has been planning a big lion but she needs some accomplices. While she’s out painting one of her most recent lions. there’s a guy watching her. He introduces himself as Hayes and that he had become connected to the lions and saw how much raw pain is in them. Rory has been having a rough time at home thinking of her mom, her dad is a sergeant, who is against her creating art, he doesn’t want her to turn out like her mom. Does Rory and her dad make up? Do they find a way to become a family still or is there bond broken.

Anna and the French Kiss – Stephanie Perkins 17453983

All three books in this companion series are so adorable and great for a Spring read!

A girl, Anna, who goes to study abroad meets Étienne, a wonderfully cute french boy, but he has a girlfriend. Anna finds herself and learns who her real friends are, while in a different country.

All I Need – Susane Colasanti 16034187

All of Susane’s books are super cute and fluffy, which is great for this time of year! I have reread this many times.

Skye wants to meet the boy who will change her life forever. Seth feels their instant connection the second he sees her. They spend their time together at a party during the summer but lose connection but never stop thinking of each other. DO they find their way back to each other?

The Flip Side – Shawn Johnson27206534

I recently read this and thought it was super cute! (like all the other books on this list) It was such a easy story that didn’t require a lot a brain power, and that is not a bad thing!

Charlie has been doing gymnastics since she was little and shes on her way to making the Olympic team, but will one wrong decision and sneaking around with a guy that ges her change that?

P.S. I Like You – Kasie Westwp-1489287017500.jpg

All of Kasie’s books are great Spring/Summer reads! Of all of her books this one is my favorite! Just the whole idea of the story makes my heart happy. I have a review on my blog, you can check it out here.

Lily writes down song lyrics as she’s zoned of in Chemistry. The next day the song has a continuation and a little note for Lily. Lily and her new pen pal talk about their favorite songs, thoughts, and secrets. The one question Lily has is who is he? Shes determined to find out. Lily and her pen pal start sharing letters with each other. As Lily tries to uncover who he is, she faces some challenges. She struggles to find time for herself with her crazy family always asking her to do something.

Tell Me Three Things – Julie Buxbaumwp-1485207580941.jpg

I bought this on a whim, but I turned out loving it! A great romance with heavy subjects surrounding it. I have a review, you can check it out here.

Jessie moves in with her dad after her mom dies. They move from Chicago to Los Angeles.  Jessie struggles to fit in with her new prep school. She doesn’t get along with her dads new wife and son. She doesn’t know is she can make it through school and her home life. Then one night when she checked her email, she got an email from this guy. The guy won’t tell her his name. They start to talk and tell each other three things. The only thing he won’t tell her is his name.

My Life Next Door – Huntley Fitzpatrick My Life Next Door

All of Huntley’s books are wonderful. She has such great and beautiful writing.

Sam comes from a quiet and poised family. Jase comes from a loud, messy family, wiht many kids. They are neighbors and  can they happen to fall in love. Can they risk it with Sam’s mother running for election and all other complications?

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda – Becky Albertalli 19547856

A wildly humorous, read! If you ever need a pick me up, go for this one! It is also becoming a movie soon!

Simon a closet gay kid, is blackmailed into coming out of the closet.

Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell16068905

This is such a staple book for most people’s book shelves, so I hope you have read it by now!

Thanks for stopping by, Emily.
