Synopsis: West Ashby is the popular, cocky guy, that everyone knows. He may be the big man on campus but he’s dealing with his dad going through cancer. He hasn’t told anyone, his teammates, his best friends, until Maggie shows up. Maggie has been through so much, she watched her dad murder her mom. After talking to the police she quit talking. She hasn’t talked to anyone in 2 years. Then she moves in with her uncle and his family and her cousin Brady. Brady is forced to take Maggie to a field party, where she meets West. She was just trying to get away from all the excitement and noise at the party and goes and sits on a tailgate near the woods. West comes back angry, looking for peace and quiet but he finds Maggie and starts talking to her because he knows she won’t answer him. The two form a bond together and he starts walking her to class and he tells her about his dad and his fears. They start to form a relationship with each other with many obstacles in their way.

Thought: I loved this, I have reread this several times, each time I read it I get something new from it. I learn more about the characters and their connections. If you want a cute fluffy romance for the summer this is not it. This romance is where the characters have to put effort into being a couple. If you want a more serious romance this is for you. It is overall such a wonderful story, each time I’ve read it I fall in love with it all over again.

Thanks for stopping by, Emily.
