Synopsis (from Goodreads): I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.

She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.

But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

***

He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?

But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.

News flash, buddy: I am over you.
Thoughts: This was such a quick read! I was super invested in the characters and their story. Kendall Ryan is a master of writing amazing romance. This was such a sweet and sexy read. I would highly recommend this and any other Kendall Ryan novels!

Dangerous Exes – Book Review

Title: Dangerous Exes

Author: Rachel Van Dyken

Publisher: Skyscape

Publication Date: October 30, 2018

Pages: 318

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): Isla made one teeny little mistake. Now she and her PI company, Dirty Exes, are being targeted by one seriously angry and furiously sexy ex-quarterback. Jessie freakin’ Beckett. But there’s no way some NFL superhunk is going to take her business away. If only he didn’t make her so hot—and bothered.

Jessie wants payback for a ruined reputation. His plan? Top secret. His hard-to-hide arousal for Isla? Not so much. Especially when they let down their guards and sneak a kiss. Like any juicy scandal, it goes so viral, so fast, that only a good lie can combat the bad press. Mortal enemies in a fling? No way. Um…this is love!

Actually…could it be?

Isla’s not faking it. Jessie can’t. As the game of let’s pretend gets real, Jessie forgets all about revenge. That’s the problem. His plan is already out of his control. Now it could undo everything they’ve been trying to build. Coming clean may be the only thing that can save it.

Thoughts: I didn’t realize this was the second book in the story, and I will be picking it up soon, but this was a great standalone. I felt so bad for Jessie and I felt awful for him, the same goes for Isla. I wish I could have been there for them. I loved how they both started to connect when neither of them wanted to. I would highly recommend.

Off the Ice – Book Review

Title: Off the Ice

Author: L. P. Dover

Publisher: L.P. Dover LLC

Publication Date: October 16, 2018

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): He’s always made the scoring plays, both on and off the ice, but this time he has a new goal … the one for Meghan’s heart.

I’m Justin Davis, all-star center for the Charlotte Strikers. For years, I chased the spotlight, not only with hockey, but through television as well. That’s why I decided to play the bachelor on Rich and Single. Unfortunately, I was stuck with a fake fiancée from hell who I couldn’t stand to be around. Now that our contract is up, I’m allowed to do whatever I want, with whoever I want. I plan to take full advantage of my newfound freedom.

After being on the show, people don’t recognize me for hockey anymore, even with just winning the Stanley Cup for my team. That’s why I’m spending the off season in a remote cabin in Wyoming where the chances of people knowing me are slim. Space is what I need, but when a down to earth beauty needs help on her ranch, I can’t resist. Meghan Taylor is exactly what I’ve been looking for, even though I’m not the kind of man she wants.

Getting her to see the real me has its challenges, but the more time I spend with her, the easier it is for her to see that I’m not the same guy she knows from TV. Being away from the media is one thing, but as soon as I’m back in the spotlight, I’m afraid it’ll change what we have. I don’t want to lose her, but I also can’t hide away in Wyoming forever. It’s a choice I’m not ready to make.

Thoughts: I didn’t know this was a series until after I finished it, but it definitely can be read as a standalone. I loved the connection between these two characters. Justin is such a great male character, he is the most genuine character that I have read about. I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the series!

Perfectly Inappropriate – Book Review

Title: Perfectly Inappropriate

Author: Stacey Kennedy

Publisher: Loveswept

Publication Date: November 27, 2018

Pages: 203

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): Olivia Watts knows that her problems are painfully average. She got engaged, and her fiancé cheated. She gave up on her dream job—street photographer—and settled on a more practical one: graphic designer. She scrimped and saved to buy a home, only to realize how empty it was. So when Olivia hears about an exclusive dating app that matches subs with highly trained doms, she does something she never thought she’d do in a million years: She signs up. The last thing she expects to find is a man whose sizzling touch reawakens the woman she used to be. . . .

Noah Grant has no time for relationships. His sole purpose is to win reelection. That’s why he pays a premium to the discreet app that satisfies all his dark desires. But after sweet, innocent Olivia is vetted and arrives for their week together in his penthouse, it’s blatantly clear that she’s running from her demons. Noah’s more than willing to be her escape—until their emotions get tangled up in their games. Now, to become worthy of Olivia’s heart, Noah will have to prove that he’s more than a fantasy.

Thoughts: This was not at all what I was expecting when I picked this up. I was expecting a fluffy read but this was a lot more serious than that. Noah was an interesting character that I was not expecting, but I was surprised by how easily he could take control with a flip of a switch. I really loved Olivia’s character, and I really felt for her going through. I was also interested that her new profession is photography and I was thought that was really cool.

Rating: 4 stars

Synopsis (from Goodreads): Raised on the streets, Shay Morgan yearns for a real family, where love is unconditionally offered—even when trust doesn’t come easy. Before that day arrives, she trespasses and steals in order to provide for the few people who’ve gone out of their way to protect her.

Born to privilege, Ben Bishop loathes his family for the despicable things they’ve done, and not done. He vows to be different, play by the rules, do the right thing. Building a thriving nightclub with those who share his values dominates his world.

One explosive night at his bar, Loading Zone, changes everything. For both of them. Forever.

A dance of opponents commences as they thwart with suspicion, start to trust, then sidestep to protect themselves from a fatal blow. Until they soon wonder if they’ve been fighting for the same side all along.

As they begin to open their hearts, they up the stakes with a one-week pact. She shows him the power in breaking the law. He demonstrates the virtue of following it.

Then a far-reaching crime is suddenly exposed—that his family committed. And for one chance moment, Shay and Ben hold the key to right the wrong, correct the injustice. But at what cost?

Will they be able to return from the other side together? Or will their differences tear them apart?

Flirting with danger…has never been so tempting.

Thoughts: This was not quite what I was expecting when I requested it. With that said I still enjoyed it. Although I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere, while I was reading it. I enjoyed Ben and Shay’s connection, it wasn’t like anything I’d read before. The story as a whole was something I had never read before. This is one of those books you need to read for yourself to see if you would like it.

Keeping Him – Book Review and Giveaway!

Jackson Bishop is your typical playboy.

Unpredictable, charming, and overly confident.

Growing up in Texas, the ranch life is all he’s ever known. Horses and late night partying are his lifestyles, and all the local girls know it too. Riding lessons aren’t the only things taught at the stables, and he makes sure clients never leave unsatisfied. Everyone knows Jackson’s a wild card, but not everything is as it seems. He may be a womanizer on the surface, but he’s hiding deep feelings about the one who’s had his heart since he was a teen. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as roping her in and claiming her as his.

Kiera Young is well-known for her sassy nature and outgoing personality. Though she’s one of the best horse trainers in the area, she’s never been able to tame her best friend and the man she’s secretly loved since she was fifteen—Jackson Bishop. She’s waited years for him to confess his true feelings but as time goes on, she decides she’s done waiting. Kiera finally meets a man who promises to give her the world, and when he pops the question, she says yes—knowing they’re both ready to settle down and start a family.

Even if her heart beats for another man.

Jackson’s certain he’s lost Kiera for good and has no one to blame but himself. However, on the day of her wedding, he can’t bring himself to watch the woman he loves to walk down the aisle to someone else. Kiera’s already having second thoughts and knows she can’t get married without his support. It’s not until she’s at the altar that she realizes she can’t let Jackson go and will do whatever it takes to keep him—even if it means running out on her own wedding.

Thoughts:

What a fantastic read! This is by far my favorite out of the series! All of the Bishop brothers are wonderful, but Kiera and Jackson’s story has been a long time coming. They have pretty much had each other’s heart since they were 15. I absolutely love this, and I wasn’t expecting how this story turned out or the things that happen. I loved Jackson and although his reasons aren’t great for not getting with Keira back in the day, he is still a great character! This is such a bittersweet book. I am super happy to read it, but now the series is over! I need more Bishop brothers! I would love to see the all of the Bishops kids grown up and have their chance at love.

Snatched – Book Review

Title: Snatched

Author: Cathleen Ross

Publisher: Entangled Publishing

Publication Date: September 17, 2018

Pages: 200

Rating: 4 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis(from Goodreads): Club Enforcer Troy DeLance is hellbent on revenge—eye-for-an-eye and all that—so he kidnaps his prospect’s sister as payback for a betrayal. If he has to tie Stacey Martin to his bed to make sure she stays, so be it. All the better if she likes it.

Stacey will do anything to save her brother. Even if it means surrendering in ways she never imagined to her beastly kidnapper. But as their relationship heats up neither realizes that someone else is plotting a far more deadly payback…

Thoughts: This was not what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it. This is different but a comfortable read for me. I really loved the MC aspect and Troy’s personality. I also enjoyed the family togetherness, even if they aren’t related. I laughed at some of Troy’s antics to scare Stacey. I wish that there was more to the conclusion, I felt that it ended abruptly.

A Kiss Like This – Book Review

Title: A Kiss Like This

Author: Sara Ney

Publisher: Sara Ney LLC

Publication Date: May 31, 2015

Pages: 321

Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis(from Goodreads): ABIGAIL DARLINGTON IS AWKWARD…

She will never be “that” girl. You know the one: that girl on campus, confident in her own skin. Always saying the right things. Putting herself out there. Knows how to talk to a guy without stammering.

Nope. Shy but clever, and easily embarrassed, Abby is fine being the wallflower in her circle of outgoing, beautiful friends; she would rather read about a sexy book boyfriend than actually have a live, breathing one.

…BUT CALEB LOCKHART IS WORSE.

Star goaltender for the University’s hockey team, Caleb is quiet and broody, preferring the solitude of his orderly, regimented life. He doesn’t like, or need people—and plans to keep it that way. One more year left of hockey and he’ll be long gone.

AWKWARD NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD.

Both their lives change the day that Abigail falls for Caleb. Well, falls directly on top of him, to be accurate. Because sometimes we don’t settle into love.

We fall there.

Thoughts: This is my favorite out of all the books in this series! I love the awkwardness and quirkiness of these characters. Caleb is like an awkward gentle giant and Abby is like an innocent shy girl. There is nothing I would change unless I could get more of it to read! I haven’t enjoyed a book quite like this one. I would laugh and I would be angry, but overall this was a fantastic read! I absolutely loved this!

He Kissed Me First – Book Review

Title: He Kissed Me First

Author: Sara Ney

Publisher: Amazon Digital Services

Publication Date: November 27, 2018

Pages: 358

Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis(from Goodreads): “Trust me – If there’s one thing I’m not attracted to, it’s an arrogant, selfish and foul-mouth hockey player. I know what I want, and Matthew Wakefield isn’t it.” – Cecelia Carter

From the first moment they laid eyes on each other, all Cecelia Carter and Matthew Wakefield do is bicker. Fight. Even though he is her roommates brother, Cece just can’t stand the sight of him, and Matthew – well. He could never resist a challenge…

That can’t be a good combination, can it?
But sometimes, love happens when you least expect it.

Thoughts: Another great novel by Sara Ney! I would highly recommend you pick up this series. It has everything you could want and more. Cecelia and Mathew make such a good couple and I loved getting to see them grow together. I loved getting to see previous characters grow older and still be happy couples.

Kissing In Cars – Book Review

Title: Kissing in Cars

Author: Sara Ney

Publisher: Amazon Digital Services

Publication Date: January 26, 2014

Pages: 231

Rating: 5 stars

Synopsis(from Goodreads): Will she, or won’t she…

Studious and (mostly) sensible, the only thing Molly Wakefield wants to do is get through Senior Year and graduate. Well, that and hit the beach in her spare time. Okay, fine – and go shopping every once in a while for a new dress… (and who could blame her?)

And things are going according to plan – until the day she spies Weston McGrath, handsome star athlete and scholar, spying on her in study hall.

A tad creepy? Maybe.
Thrilling? Absolutely.

You see, Weston McGrath happens to be one guy no one can get close to.

Despite her best efforts to avoid it (because let’s face it – the guy isn’t exactly “boyfriend material”) Molly and Weston form a friendship.
And more…
Sort of.
But it’s a friendship that comes with a price – because Weston just cannot seem to stop screwing things up. Or saying all the wrong things. Possibly in that order…
And who has time for an 18-year-old “fixer-upper” that should know better?
Not Molly.
Or does she?

Thoughts: I loved this 2 years ago and I still love it now! This is a fantastic story with amazing characters. Every single part of this novel is phenomenal! I would highly recommend that you buy this and indulge.

Hot Winter Nights – Book Review

Title: Hot Winter Nights

Author: Jill Shalvis

Publisher: Avon

Publication Date: September 25, 2018

Pages: 256

Rating: 4 stars

**Thanks to Avon Publishing for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis(from Goodreads): Most people wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that–but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once . . .

Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas.

Thoughts: I was super surprised to get this book in the mail, and I couldn’t wait to read. It didn’t disappoint. The only thing I didn’t like about it, was how slow the beginning was other than that this was a read. It has really put me in the mood for Christmas and snow! I would highly recommend you buy this and snuggle up on the couch!

Once Upon a Real Good Time – Book Review

Title: Once Upon a Real Good Time
Author: Lauren Blakely
Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform
Publication Date: September 10, 2018
Rating: 5 stars
**Thanks to the publisher for sending me a copy to review**
Synopsis(from Goodreads): That smoking hot one-night stand with a former rock star?

Turns out he’s my son’s new teacher. Oops.

But I didn’t know that the night I met Campbell. All I knew was he played my body the same way he played a guitar — like he owned it.

My libido is still high-fiving me after being self-served for too many years, and we’re both ready for another night or two of fun, especially since we don’t just have chemistry in bed — we connect over everything.

That is, until I learn he’s the man who’ll be coming to my house twice a week to teach my son — the best music lessons money can buy.

Time to turn down the volume on our shenanigans. Only that’s easier said than done.

***

I can rock a guitar solo in front of thousands, I can write chart-topping tunes, and I can absolutely stop thinking about my student’s mother naked.

After all, I’m a single parent too, and I know what it’s like to put your kid first. That’s what I do every damn day.

Trouble is, now that I’ve had Mackenzie, it’s hard — and I do mean hard — to stop wanting her. Harder too when I get to know her, and learn she’s an awesome mom, a great friend, and, oh yeah, she happens to get along perfectly with my daughter.

All we have to do is set some rules. No dating, no nookie when the kids are around, and no one gets hurt.

It’s all working out beautifully. Until we start breaking the rules, one by one.

Making music with her in the bedroom is easy. But will we be more than just a real good time when the music stops?
Thoughts: Another great romance from Lauren Blakely. This is such a feel-good romance, that will leave a smile on your face. I devoured Once Upon a Real Good Time, in a short few hours and enjoyed every moment. Campbell and Mackenzie have an immediate attraction, that is able to be felt through the pages. Campbell is such a sweet dad and it really adds to his appeal. Mackenzie’s relationship with her son and his father is one that seems so realistic that, you want to become part of their family. The way that these two families have become one, was fun to see and indulge in. I highly recommend you pick it up when it’s released.

A Brand New Ending – Book Review

Title: A Brand New Ending

Author: Jennifer Probst

Publisher: Montlake Romance

Publication Date: October 23, 2018

Pages: 324

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): Ophelia Bishop was a lovestruck teenage girl when she and Kyle Kimpton chased their dreams to Hollywood. Kyle’s dreams came true. Ophelia’s did not. When Kyle chose his career over their relationship, Ophelia returned home to rural New York to run the family’s B & B—wiser, and more guarded against foolish fantasies. Now Kyle has come crashing back into her life, and all her defenses are down.

Kyle can’t think of a better place to write his latest screenplay than his hometown. After all, that was where he met the heart of his inspiration—his first love. He knows the damage he’s caused Ophelia, and he wants a chance to mend their relationship. If anyone can prove to Ophelia that happy ever afters aren’t only for the movies, it should be him.

As much as Ophelia’s changed, she still has feelings for Kyle. But her heart has been broken before, and she knows that Kyle could run back to Hollywood at any time. She gave up her dreams once, but maybe she can dare to change her own love story…one last time.

Thoughts: What a great continuation of the Stay series by Jennifer Probst! Both of these characters made for a fun read. They are opposites of each other, but complete and complement each other. Kyle was a super interesting character to get to read about, he has a lot to offer in the fictional world and the real world. Ophelia is an inspirational character for anyone who wants to go after your dreams, even years later. I can’t wait for the next novel to see Ophelia’s sister find her true love.

Chasing Him – Book Review

Title: Chasing Him

Author: Kennedy Fox

Publisher: Kennedy Fox LLC

Publication Date: June 28, 2018

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to the publisher for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): John Bishop isn’t your typical single dad.
Reserved, impatient, and utterly clueless.

Running the family’s bed and breakfast has many perks. Working long hours, picking up after the guests, and hearing couples going at it all night long aren’t any of them. Hooking up with girls who come to the ranch for horseback riding lessons? Best perk of them all.

That is until a baby shows up at his doorstep with a note claiming it’s his. Growing up on a ranch was anything but easy, but raising a newborn is proving to be the hardest task he’ll ever tackle. Leaving the bachelor life behind, his only priority is to hire a nanny who can teach him a thing or two about parenting — except he doesn’t anticipate her being gorgeous and quirky with an unhealthy football obsession.

Mila Carmichael has many talents — making balloon animals, creating origami art, and remaining in the friend zone. Often seen as one of the guys, she’s struck out more times than a rookie baseball player.

Seeking a new adventure, she flies to Texas to visit family and is offered a position she can’t refuse. Helping out a new dad should come easy to her, considering her past experience, but what she doesn’t anticipate is him being an attractive Southern temptation.

But that’s only the beginning.

While growing close to his family and falling madly in love with the baby girl who’s stealing their hearts, things are bound to get complicated. Everyone knows not to mix business with pleasure. That means no late movie nights, no stolen glances, and definitely no kissing behind closed doors. Too bad the universe has other plans — one that’ll threaten taking away the main thing that binds them together.

Thoughts: This was amazing! This series has only gotten better! Alex and Evan were great books and John was just good. Mila is such a sweet character and was a great nanny and a great figure to Maize. I am super excited for the next book and to see another Bishop boy find happiness! I would highly recommend this series and any of Kennedy Fox’s books.

Love and Other Secrets – Book Review

Title: Love and Other Secrets

Author: Christina Mandelski

Synopsis (Goodreads): Star lacrosse player Alex “Kov” Koviak has it all. Or so everyone thinks. He’s real good at pretending his life is perfect…until he meets Bailey. The girl challenges him and pushes him and makes him laugh like he’s never laughed before. Their friendship is their little secret, and he’s happy to keep her to himself.

Between school, two jobs, and trying to get into NYU film school, Bailey Banfield has zero time for a social life. But then she meets Alex in her express lane at the grocery store, and their secret friendship becomes the only place she can breathe. She refuses to complicate that with more. No matter how charming Alex can be.

When Bailey decides to film outrageous promposals for her NYU application, she enlists Alex’s help to plan an over-the-top, epic promposal to someone else. Too bad the only prom date Alex wants anywhere near Bailey is him.

For a guy who seems to have it all, he’s about to lose the only thing he’s ever wanted.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Crush contains a cocky lacrosse player in over his head with his secret best friend, unexpected midnight kisses, swoon-worthy slow dancing, and movie-night cuddling that’ll make you ache. You’re going to want an Alex of your own!

Thoughts: This was a cute read! This would have been perfect around the actual prom season but it was still worth reading! There were cute characters and sceneries. I had to laugh out loud at all of Alex’s antics. I really enjoyed how short and sweet the novel was and it really fits in with the Entangled Publishing!

Liar – Book Review

Title: Liar
Author: Stephanie St. Klaire
Publisher: The SSK Group
Publication Date: August 23, 2018
Rating: 5 stars
**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**
Synopsis(Goodreads): Fake it until you make it. That was the mantra Cori Dash chanted as she chased a big city dream. The more you tell people you’re on top of the world, the more they believe it – just like they believed the embellished image she sold them with her knock off designer facade. It wasn’t lying if the truth stood somewhere in the middle – and she didn’t get caught.

Dominic Blackthorne owned half of that big city…and a reputation. Rather than dispel rumors or show the world the real Nick, he let his own fake image run free. Until Cori Dash – the only person who told him exactly how it was, even if it stung.

When Cori is faced with her ex-fiance, now engaged to her ex-best friend, it’s game on. In her boldest move yet, she concocts her biggest lie to date by introducing the first handsome stranger that walks by as her new fiancé. Happy to play the part, Nick is already planning the fake wedding of her dreams.

You know what they say about lying – the truth always comes out – and it hurts. Especially when Cori finds out she isn’t the biggest Liar in this game, and she’s been out played.
Thoughts: Another knockout novel by Stephanie St. Klaire. She has amazing writing skills and is able to capture my attention to make me not want to do anything but read! These were such fun characters to read and learn about. From Cori’s down to earth personality and Dominic and his rich ways, a masterpiece!

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

Stephanie St. Klaire is a Pacific Northwest native currently living in Portland, Oregon with her husband, five children, and two ferocious lap dogs that are used to the finer things in life like sleeping all day. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found with a plate full of taco’s, a side of bean dip, and probably some gummy bears while being a little bit hippy and a lot bit busy mom’ing and wife’ing.

When she’s not tossing around gritty crime show inspired serial killers and diabolical bad guys, she likes to make people pee their pants a little with a good romcom. Sometimes, her worlds collide, and she writes really funny stuff right before she kills people off on the pages! She loves murder and mayhem as much as a good laugh and HEA! That’s why she’s a die-hard Hallmark junky but loves her gritty crime shows – balance!

Stephanie has always been a story teller, with the gift of “gab”, and a life-long goal to be a writer. Unfortunate circumstances with her health, finally afforded her the time to do so. Irony at its best, she began writing her first novel at an adverse time, to escape her circumstance and explore the stories in her imagination for relief. She is happy to share those stories with her readers, and bring a little fun, entertainment, and of course smexy characters to the pages.

Exclusive/A Touch of Heaven – Book Review

Title: Exclusive/A Touch of Heaven

Author: Samantha Chase

Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca

Publication Date: November 6, 2018

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis(from Goodreads): Exclusive
When little-known writer Taylor Scott is granted two weeks to interview a famous reclusive author, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime. So is the chance to rekindle her friendship with Mike Greene, who happens to be the author’s assistant. But as feelings deepen and time winds down, Taylor will have to choose between the story that could launch her career and an unexpected chance at love.

A Touch of Heaven
As Regan Amerson makes the emotional decision to sell their family home, her mother wins a home makeover from a reality TV show. Regan is furious, and jaded host Sawyer Bennett isn’t thrilled either. That is, until he meets Regan–and finds himself enamored by the fiercely independent beauty. She may want nothing to do with him, but Sawyer isn’t one to give up easily…

Thoughts: Exclusive/A Touch of Heaven- These were such fun reads, that are unique in their own ways while both still being amazing.  Samantha Chase kills it with romance novels. I haven’t met a Samatha Chase book that I didn’t like. All of these characters are super cute and have met such good people to be their other halves.

Love Like Ours – Book Review

Author: Melissa Foster

Synopsis(from Goodreads): Talia Dalton lives her life on cruise control. Despite her successful career as a professor, she prefers protecting her broken heart to taking chances. She’s calm, cool, collected, and steady. Until the morning she takes her eyes off that familiar road and almost runs over the sexiest man she’s ever seen. It may not be the best way to start the day, but it might be the type of shake-up she needs.

Male dancer Derek Grant has goals, and nothing is going to get in the way of achieving them. As a graduate student and the sole caretaker of his ailing father, he hasn’t much time for relationships. Then Talia crashes into his life. Sweet, pretty—and so buttoned-up that he can’t wait to help her cut loose.

For Derek, falling in love was a beautiful accident waiting to happen. And it might be exactly what Talia needs—if she’s willing to let go of the past and embrace every surprise Derek has to offer.

Thoughts: This was a super pleasing read and I loved every page. I recently started reading Melissa Foster and I have loved all of the books I have read. This one definitely didn’t disappoint. Derek is such an awesome character and has a quality that all characters should retain. It’s very refreshing to see such great qualities in these characters.

Big Stick – Book Review

Title: Big Stick

Author: R. C. Stephens

Publisher: Entangled Publishing LLC

Publication Date: September 17, 2018

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): Hockey is my life. And it’s a great one. There’s an endless line of women, and I get to hang with my best friend Oli. Everything is perfect until she shows up. Oli’s twin sister, Flynn…hates my guts. I don’t blame her. I’m part of one of the worst nights of her life.

Now she’s next door and seeing her every day is killing me slowly. I wonder if we can ever get back to being friends. The way she looks at me sometimes, well, let’s just say my hockey stick isn’t the only thing that’s feeling hard these days.

But if she finds out the secrets I’m keeping, forgiveness will be the last thing on her mind.

Thoughts: This was such a sweet read. The whole atmosphere that surrounded this book was adorable and heartfelt. It was nice to see these characters being vulnerable and being able to overcome the obstacles that have come their way.  Fylnn is such an empowering character, and she is a force to be reckoned with. Myles is equally as cute and treats Flynn how she should be treated. It’s also nice to see the family relationship and how Oli would do anything for his sister and vice versa. I’m a sucker for sports and a hockey romance, and this was just the thing to quench my thirst for this genre.

Needing Him – Book Review

Title: Needing Him

Author: Kennedy Fox

Publisher: Kennedy Fox LLC

Publication Date: April 17, 2018

Pages: 398

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (Goodreads): Evan Bishop is your typical hotshot doctor.
Hardass, brooding, and all business.

Instead of working on the family ranch, Evan broke the mold and became an ER doctor.
He’s good with his hands—in more ways than one—smart as a whip and is the definition of God’s gift to women. Being a gentleman is in his Southern roots, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed. Exclusive dating has never been a top priority and his tragic past makes him stay at arm’s length. Deciding to let loose for a wild night, he takes a page from the Bishop brother’s relationship book and hooks up with a mysterious girl he’ll never have to see again, which is perfect for this self-proclaimed bachelor.

Emily Bell is a city girl through and through but is determined to get away from her family and past. All she wants is a fresh start and to make a name for herself in the medical field. No random hookups and no dating coworkers—that’s her new motto after being burned time and again. When she agrees to attend a wedding as a plus-one, she’s soon ditched and left to drink solo—but not for long. Mr. Suit is the ultimate temptation with his Southern charm, messy blond hair, and irresistible sex appeal. Everything about him screams bad news, but he makes her reconsider her rules just for one night.

After all, some rules are made to be broken.

They want the same thing—one night of passion then they’ll go their separate ways. No cuddling afterward. No next day phone calls. No awkward goodbyes. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll be obvious when they report to work on Monday morning.

Thoughts: This was freaking fantastic! Kennedy’s books are like candy, you can’t stop once you start! I am loving this series and this next installment was not a letdown. I loved every second of Needing Him, and I was very shocked at the ending. I held many emotions and theories and was disappointed that I didn’t have the next book in front of me. This is a read that you will NEED to pick up the next one as soon as possible.

Synopsis (from Goodreads): Alex Bishop is your typical cowboy.
Charming, sexy, and wears a panty-melting smirk.

Working on the ranch helped build his solid eight-pack and smoking body. He’s every girl’s wet fantasy, and he knows it too. Alex doesn’t follow the rules of your typical playboy bachelor. After wining and dining his dates and giving them the best night of their lives, he always sends flowers and calls the next day—even if it’s to say, let’s just be friends. His mama taught him manners after all, and his Southern blood knows how to be a gentleman. Still, that isn’t enough to tame the wildest of the Bishop brothers.

River Lancaster has finally met the man of her dreams. Too bad after six months of romantic bliss, she finds out he’s married. With a broken heart and blind rage, she books herself a ticket to Key West, Florida. Tired of cheaters and liars, she’s set on escaping to forget he ever existed. Who needs a man when there’s an all-you-can-drink margarita bar, anyway? That’s what she tells herself until she bumps into the right guy who can make all those bad memories disappear.

Even if it’s only temporarily.

Two weeks on the beach is what they both need. No strings attached, no expectations, no broken hearts. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll change the entire course of their lives in just nine short months.

Thoughts: This was amazing! I can’t express enough of how fantastic of a book this is. Kennedy Fox is a mastermind and created a masterpiece. This novel turned out to be more than I could have imagined. I would highly, highly, recommend that this be put in your cart and on your TBR shelf.

Harbinger – Giveaway and Blog Tour

EIRIK LACHLAN – CHARACTER DISCUSSION
Just like with Kiran of the original Dragonrider Chronicles series, Eirik was one of those side-characters that stole the show and took on a life of his own. From his dorky sense of humour, sad attempts at flirting, sibling-like relationship with Jenna, and humble opinion of himself—he grew on me very quickly. He’s the jokester of Jenna’s batch of dragonrider comrades, and was her partner in training at the academy. I don’t normally keep my deleted scenes, but I do have a block of dialogue that was cut from the book between Eirik, Jenna, and Jaevid. It was just too funny to throw out!
“Did she tell you? Jenna and I were in dragonrider training together at the Academy,” Eirik went on as he showed us into the sitting room. “I was her first sparring partner. There I am, fresh as a spring daisy on my first day of combat training, thinking I’ve got the upper hand on all these rookies because my family has dragonriders four generations deep. And I look across the sparring circle to see this absolutely lovely girl. I thought it was a joke, at first! Then she comes barreling at me, eyes blazing like a rabid wolf, and the next thing I know I’m waking up in the infirmary with a dislocated shoulder. We’ve been friends ever since.”
“We’ve all heard this story before,” Haldor groaned, rubbing his forehead. “Many, many times.”
“He hasn’t!” Eirik walled over and dropped into a chair close to the hearth.
I flashed Jaevid a look, unable to keep a smirk from wriggling over my lips. “Don’t let him scare you. I only dislocate the shoulders of men who try to grab my breasts during a sparring match and call it an ‘accident’.”
Eirik’s face went red as his eyes went as round as saucers. “It was! And I did not grab them! They just happened to be in the way when—“
“I’m sorry, what? You went straight for them!” I grabbed his ear and gave it a playful yank as I went past.
Haldor groaned and shook his head.
“A grab is a grab,” Calem agreed, his expression still eerily serene.
Eirik put his face in his hands. “Stop… it was an accident. Really, it was. You’re making me out to be a complete scoundrel in front of Jaevid.”

Victory is written in the blood of the brave. As the armies of the Tibran Empire continue to march across Maldobar, a path of scorched destruction and despair is left in their wake. Even with the formidable princess, Jenna Farrow, leading the charge, the strength of the dragonriders is waning. Tibran victory appears inevitable—especially after Princess Jenna and Prince Aubren are taken hostage by the infamous Lord Argonox. Separated from her brother and tortured for information, Princess Jenna refuses to bend to the iron will of Argonox. But her strength and resolve may only last so long. Held prisoner in his dark tower, it would take a miracle to set her free—or perhaps a pair of demigods and their dragons. With revived dragonrider legend, Jaevid Broadfeather, at his side, Reigh must now make a choice: face the truth about the origin of his dark powers, or turn his back on world in need. But throwing off a lifetime of shame and self-doubt is not so easily done—especially when the cost of failure means the destruction of the world. The long-awaited hero has awakened. The ancient spirits are stirring. The dark goddess has chosen her champion. But is he ready to embrace that rite and become the HARBINGER Maldobar needs him to be?

Kiss the Girl – Book Review

Title: Kiss the Girl

Author: Tara Sivec

Publisher: St. Martin’s Press

Publication Date: September 4, 2018

Rating: 5 stars

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): A struggling antiques collector finds herself falling in love with a millionaire playboy; but can she ever be a part of his world?

Meet the Naughty Princess Club, a series from USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec that brings readers to Fairytale Lane and the hilarity—and romance—that three women fall into once they decide to strut their stuff and bring on their own happily ever after.

While her friends have broken free of their insecurities, Ariel Waters is struggling to come out of her shell. Her ex-husband took away her voice and her self-confidence, and Ariel is drowning under a sea of debt to afford the alimony she has to pay him. She refuses to ever fall for a man’s charms again, and is determined to make her own way.

When her house and her beloved antiques are taken by the bank after too many missed payments, Ariel finds herself adrift until the infuriatingly charming Eric Sailor comes to her rescue. Although she can’t stand the millionaire playboy, Eric’s kindness and unconditional support reveal hidden depths and a love that Ariel never imagined she could find.

But there are outside influences who will stop at nothing to keep them apart; can Ariel and Eric weather the storm and find a way to be together?

Thoughts: This by far my favorite book I have read all year. I loved the playfulness between Ariel and Eric. I was laughing out loud and that is something that I loved about this. This book is definitely worth your time. I plan on rereading Kiss the Girl, and I know I’m going to love it just as much or even more.

Thoughts:

This was an amazing read and I didn’t want it to end. I loved the way these characters connected and shared themselves with each other. It as also really nice to see other characters from other books be apart of Drake and Serena’s story. I was super happy that these two were able to overcome hardships that were thrown there way.

Title: Until We’re More

Author: Cindi Madsen

**Thanks to Net Galley for sending me a copy to review**

Synopsis (from Goodreads): Chelsea is smart, funny, gorgeous, and the best friend I’ve ever had. Ever since she left, I’ve been a wreck. I’ve been focused on keeping my family’s MMA gym afloat while I train and coach fighters, anything to not miss her more. But now she’s finally back, along with her grumpy, possessive cat, and things are weird between us.

By weird, I mean I can’t stop thinking about her in that way. She’s in the room next door, and it takes all my control not to storm in there, sweep her up, and bring her back to my bed. Even stranger, I’m pretty sure she’d be into it.

And this time, I’m not going to stop fighting until we’re more.

Thoughts: I fell in love with Liam and Chelsea from page one. I couldn’t stop reading this and I enjoyed every second. I loved the atmosphere that both of these characters gave off makes you feel like you are there with them, which I really love in a novel. I would love a continuation of Until We’re More, I would love to see their future and how things turned out for them.
